READER REVIEW: Bob's Review of Handel's Peanut Butter Parfait

Handel's Peanut Butter Parfait is a peanut butter base with small chunks of peanut butter and a small peanut butter swirl combined together to make a signature flavor off their line of homemade flavors. The only downside to this pint before we really crack into it is upon opening the top lid you don't really see any swirl or the peanut butter chunks, but that will soon change because Handel's delivers as far as taste goes.

Upon first bite you can see the small glipse of a swirl underneath the initial first bite and into the middle of the pint, there are also little peanut butter chunks (made of straight peanut butter) that really enhance the overall flavoring of the pint and give it a nice and rich peanut butter enhancement. The base is fantastic and has a small bit of a chocolate aftertaste to give it a great chocolate and peanut butter feel. The swirl of peanut butter is really hit or miss as it isn't as great as some of their other flavors with swirls or mix-ins. The small chunks of peanut butter are no where close to what you would find in a Peanut Butter Pie from HD, or Peanut Butter Cup from Ben & Jerry's, but they do exist and add to the overall combination of peanut butter.

If you are a peanut butter lover, this is right up your alley. A very bold and rich peanut butter base (that is honestly like you are eating out of a peanut butter jar with a sprinkle of chocolate into the mix that's more found in the aftertaste) and a small peanut butter swirl with small pieces and globs of peanut butter (straight from a jar as the lady who packed the pint said). Infuse this all together and you are in a peanut butter dream world. The overall base is much richer than Peanut Butter Pie, but the mix-ins are no where near as thick/dense as you would find in that pint. I would have to say Handel's base is superior to what you would find from a Graeter's, Haagen Dazs, or Ben & Jerry's, which is why I will rate this pint high, but it does lack a bit on the mix-ins compared to the other Handel's offerings you can get/find.
