At this point of the blog, there are very few Blue Bell flavors that we haven’t tracked down, but there are still a few that have evaded our team of ice cream connoisseurs across the country. One of those is the carton you see above: Southern Hospitality. For this carton, Blue Bell starts with their highly-rated Homemade Vanilla ice cream and adds chunks of pineapples, roasted pecans and strawberry sauce swirl.
Blue Bell’s Homemade Vanilla has been reviewed here before, but throw in just a few mix-ins and you have something even better. The pieces of pineapple are kept small enough to avoid freezing throughout and thaw out quickly. Mixed with the crunchy bits of roasted pecans and small stripes of strawberry, Southern Hospitality makes for a refreshing way to usher in the warmer weather. Even with all this had going for it, an A grade just wasn't warranted considering some of the other mix-in laden cartons they've created over the years.
