Since releasing their US Core lineup, we've covered Ben & Jerry's Hazed & Confused, Peanut Butter Fudge, That's My Jam, and now we wrap up our coverage with the one we were looking most forward to: Salted Caramel. For this particular pint, Vermont's Finest combines their sweet cream ice cream with blonde brownies & a salted caramel core. Even though salty caramel has been somewhat of a food fad for the past few years, we remain loyal supporters of the sweet and savory sensation.
While all the other Core flavors provide a pair of base ice creams, we're completely content with both portions containing sweet cream after previously scooping some in pints like Imagine Whirled Peace and Chocolate Nougat Crunch. Just as we recalled, the sweet cream foundation is smooth and full of flavor. The bits of blonde brownies don't grow very large in size, but their complementary flavoring and helps to counteract their small stature. Add in a copious (or not -- your choice!) amount of the bold-tasting, thick salted caramel swirl and we were on cloud nine.
