READER REVIEW: Bob's Review of Handel's Pumpkin

This was a keeper from bite one to the last bite. This was the BEST pumpkin ice cream I have ever had. Upon going to Handel's, I had this before as a sample but never in pint form so I knew what I was getting into, but as you pop the lid it is a very dark orange mixture that is made fresh daily from the store and it also contains a cinnamon swirl and a marshmallow ripple that compliments the pint very well.

Upon the first bite, you get a HUGE dense pumpkin patched flavor that also has an amazing cinnamon, nutmeg, and graham cracker taste that trickles down your throat as you continue. It seems like every single bite you take gives you a thick tasting of Libby's Pumpkin that is full of cream and sugar but in essence its not really that caloric dense (250kcals a serving or 1/4 of a pint). The amazing thing is how well everything compliments each other and nothing overpowers. The marshmallow ripple is more profound but is not as strong as the cinnamon, nutmeg, or graham cracker crust you truly taste so it sticks out as an all round pumpkin flavor. This would destroy Ben & Jerry's Pumpkin Cheesecake in a heart beat, and gives Cold Stone Creamery an easy run away because this trumps it.

As you can see as you dig into the pint the marshmallow ripple continues to pick up and it's almost like someone melted a marshmallow right into the pint. It's absolutely spot on with taste and flavoring. This is where you get dense chunks of marshmallow because Handel's does not skimp on mix-ins. If you like anything pumpkin this is a must if you visit a Handel's. This is just absolutely ridiculous on how well it is truly flavored. You get every single aspect you could ask for in a pumpkin ice cream with cinnamon, nutmeg, graham cracker, plus the extra marshmallow is icing on the cake.
