REVIEW: Ben & Jerry's Peanut Butter Fudge Core
My part of North Carolina seemed to be the last in the country to receive the new Ben & Jerry’s Core flavors, but I was excited to see Peanut Butter Fudge Core finally show up on shelves. This chocolate & peanut butter ice creams with mini peanut butter cups and a peanut butter fudge core is a hybrid of their popular Peanut Butter Cup and recent Walmart exclusive, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup. With the thick peanut butter fudge core, this one balloons up to 1200 calories for the pint.
The first layer had an even distribution of each individual base and visible evidence of the dark brown core running through the middle. Both the chocolate and peanut butter ice creams were worthy of praise, just as they are in their own individual peanut butter cup flavors. The mini peanut butter cups aren’t quite as impressive as the huge halves we’re used to seeing from Ben & Jerry’s, but the peanut butter fudge core more than makes up for it. The potent peanut butter fudge works perfectly with the other ingredients and really brings home the chocolate peanut butter theme in this one.
