While we find ourselves on somewhat of a coconut kick as of late, we realized that we hadn't covered the coconut flavor from perhaps the most readily available gelato brand in the country. Talenti's Caribbean Coconut takes, "tender, moist shredded coconut imported from the Philippines adds an exotic and inspiring touch." With a description like that, we can't believe we hadn't picked up this base only flavor before.
Unlike some of our other coconut themed experiences, Talenti leaves plenty of that tender shredded coconut untouched inside the gelato for maximum texture. Our first bite begins with a thick, smooth consistency and a sweet, creamy start. The backend brings the feel of coconut flesh and finishes with even more flavor. All in all, this is about as close to coconut base perfection as we've found.
