NEWS: Front Porch Displays Some Southern Hospitality
A few weeks ago I was contacted by Front Porch in regards to one of my reviews I had published. After ripping apart their Sublime Key Lime, they had stumbled upon my prose and were looking to right their wrongs. Concerned for my distate of one of their flavors, they were interested in me further exploring some of their other offerings, as well as re-visiting their Sublime Key Lime in hopes I would have a change of heart. After some small-talk and providing my address, I received a package a few days later containing some Carolina Churned Ice Cream goodies: a Front Porch embossed ice cream scoop, a magnet displaying all their available flavors, coupons, as well as the latest publication of Our State magazine which contained an in-depth article on their operation.
Before I was even contacted by them, I had made my own efforts to expand my Front Porch horizon myself by reviewing a pint of their Scarlett Red Velvet. Rocketing towards the top of the red velvet category, I was ready to see what else Front Porch had in their repertoire. Leafing through the magazine, I really enjoyed the well-written article published about the company formerly known as Mooresville Ice Cream. Around since 1924, this creamery has a lot more history than I originally thought. Staying close to their roots, they've rolled out fifteen flavors, all of which are inspired by their Southern roots. Equipped with a new ice cream scoop and free passes to Front Porch pints, I can't wait to dig into flavors like Sweetie Tea, Nana's Banana Pudding and Praline Coastal Crunch.
It's nice to see some companies are still making an effort to ensure the satisfaction of their consumers. The fact that Front Porch feels it's necessary to do some grassroots marketing bodes well for everyone. Staying in touch with their customers and supporters at this level establishes an open forum of feedback that will let them know which flavors people love and which ones aren't getting the job done. This is a win-win for ice cream lovers everywhere. So keep an eye out for future reviews of some Front Porch flavors!
