REVIEW: Coolhaus Caramia Lehrer
After thoroughly enjoying both the Killer Combo and the Renzo Apple Pie-ano Ice Cream Sandwiches from Coolhaus, we continued our exploration with their Caramia Lehrer: snickerdoodle cookies + sea salted caramel ice cream. This particular gourmet sammie pairs together perhaps our favorite cookie with one of our favorite flavors of ice cream, so we already had high expectations, but once we removed the wrapper was when our anticipation peaked. The lightly colored cookies showed plenty of cinnamon throughout and the beige colored base ice cream had melted down to the ideal consistency for us to begin our taste test.
The soft, gooey cookies retained somewhat of a doughy feel and were packed with cinnamon sugar flavoring; an aspect that was only amplified once the salted aspects of the caramel ice cream came into play. Each bite brought together a plethora of tastes and textures that were very well balanced. The cookie to ice cream ratio in the sandwiches of Coolhaus are ideal in our eyes and include enough enough ice cream to offset the use of two cookies. We loved the previous two combinations we've had from this company, but the salted caramel and snickerdoodle duo is the best we've had up to this point.
