REVIEW: Haagen Dazs Green Tea

Green Tea seems to be a great inspiration for ice cream, but not one we see as often here in the United States. So when we saw this carton labeled Green Tea from Haagen Dazs we had to try it. The description on the side reads, "We make our green tea ice cream from a highly sought-after Japanese matcha green tea, a ceremonial tea prized for its intense yet delicate essence. Enjoy its soothing flavor enhanced with the richness of pure, sweet cream." With the top removed, we can clearly see the light green coloring of the 250 calories per serving base.

As is tradition with Haagen Dazs, the consistency should never be questioned. Most of their flavors are rich, super-premium and melt down quite slowly all while releasing top-notch flavoring. Much like the description from Haagen Dazs implies, this ice cream is mildly flavored for the most part, only allowing small hints of the green tea taste to come to the forefront. The soothing aspect that speak of certainly comes to fruition, and even though we only rated this ice cream as average, it's still worth a try.
