After posting up my positive review of Ben & Jerry’s Banana Peanut Butter Greek Frozen Yogurt, a lot of my readers recommended I try the Blueberry Vanilla Graham version as well. Both Liz Lemon and Vanilla Honey Caramel had been a bit of a letdown, but I was ready to give Greek frozen yogurt another go-round. This one had been introduced when the lineup had initially been released and utilizes blueberry and vanilla Greek frozen yogurts with a graham cracker swirl. I typically regard Ben & Jerry’s gritty graham cracker swirl, like the one used in Pumpkin Cheesecake and Strawberry Cheesecake, as one of their best, so I was excited to see this listed in the description.
Blueberry Vanilla Graham still comes in at 200 calories per serving despite being a frozen yogurt, but manages to pack 24 grams of protein in the whole pint. After removing the lid, the first layer looks very similar to that of the Walmart exclusive, Ben & Jerry’s Blueberry Cheesecake. The lavender looking blueberry frozen yogurt splits the first layer with the off-white vanilla version and shows off some of the graham cracker swirl that sits in the center. The consistency of Ben & Jerry’s Greek frozen yogurt is slightly less dense than their standard ice cream, but still remains thick enough to effectively showcase all the ingredients inside. The blueberry base is mildly sweet and leads with the taste of ripe blueberries, while the backend is slightly tart like Greek yogurt usually is.
The vanilla frozen yogurt, the same one used in Vanilla Honey Caramel, allows the unique flavors from the Greek style yogurt to immediately come to the forefront. Although it has been infused with hints of vanilla, there’s no questioning the tart aftertaste. When the two bases come together, they mesh together eloquently; creating a well-balanced base to show off one of my favorite mix-ins. Even though I didn’t find any large concentrations of the graham cracker swirl, just the crumbs that make their way into each bite enhance Blueberry Vanilla Graham immensely. The gritty texture and sweet taste added by this mix-in compliments both bases and puts this one right up there with Ben & Jerry’s Banana Peanut Butter Greek Frozen Yogurt.
