"The photo above was taken yesterday here at the Dairy. That’s right, it’s the first batch of fresh Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream coming off the line. (In case you’re wondering why that other container is upside down, the containers alternate being right side up and upside down because it helps them fit together better when they’re wrapped up for shipping.)
The next stop for this treat was the hardening room, where the Pumpkin Pie spent roughly 10 hours in minus 40 degree Fahrenheit temperatures before moving to the freezer warehouse. The Pumpkin Pie will stay in the warehouse for a week or so, while we make more Pumpkin Pie, before finally being shipped to retail locations around the nation. We know what you’re thinking: “Get to the point! When will I be able to buy some?!”
Good question. Stores should start receiving Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream somewhere around October 7, but Turkey Hill Minit Market stores could get it as soon as October 1! Of course, that date can vary widely when it comes to our Limited Edition flavors. Other stores might not have it on their shelves until the middle of October or even LATE October.
The good news is, Pumpkin Pie will be our Limited Edition flavor for October AND November, so if you can’t get some until closer to Halloween, you’ll still be able to enjoy it until well past Thanksgiving (many stores will even have it in stock in December)."
This limited edition flavor easily obtained an A from me and deserves a scoop from everyone to usher in the new season. If you couldn't tell from the picture below, the cinnamon graham cracker swirl is reason enough to buy an entire carton. My full review can be seen by clicking here.
