Following a complete overhaul of the ice cream aisle at my local Walmart, a ton of new novelty items were added to their inventory. One of those new products were these limited edition Pomegranate Dark Chocolate ice cream bars made by Haagen Dazs. The description on the back of the box was more than enough to persuade our team to pick a box of these up so we could take a closer look. These small, 3 ounce bars come in at 270 calories each and combined dark chocolate chocolate with sweet & tart pomegranate ice cream.
Only differing slightly from the dark chocolate and black raspberry theme done often by companies like Graeter’s and Talenti, the pomegranate is a welcomed change of pace and something we hadn’t seen before in ice cream. The balance of power between sour and sweet on the inside of the bars works perfectly to counteract the rich, crunchy exterior; all the while complementing the floral notes of the high-quality dark chocolate. If budget isn’t a deciding factor for you, we suggest picking a box of these up before their limited run has expired.
