Along with the impressive flavors Walmart has created for their Sam's Choice line, including the incredible Coffee & Donuts, they've also released an updated premium ice cream line available in larger cartons. We opted to try Sea Salt Caramel Truffle first to see how their sea salt caramel truffle ice cream with a seal salt caramel swirl and truffle candy pieces would taste at only 160 calories per serving. All signs were positive after popping off the lid and seeing what was underneath. The first swipe of our scoop tore right through one of the truffles, releasing all the sea salt caramel sauce inside.
The salty caramel base was better than anticipated and provided a suitable salty, yet mild start to this flavor. If sweet and salty is something you appreciate in ice cream, this one only gets better once the mix-ins become involved. The large concentrations of sea salt caramel swirls are made of seemingly of the same ingredients inside the chocolate truffles and really add a bite to any spoonfuls they become a part of. The rich, chocolate coating on the truffles complements the other caramel ingredients to make this a pretty impressive combination considering the calories.
