As a tribute to Zelda Fitzgerald, wife of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Jeni’s announced a new collection of flavors earlier today referred to as The Zelda Collection. Blackberries + Sweet Cream, Cognac + Marmalade, Loveless Biscuits + Peach Jam, and Dark Chocolate Rye all represent different parts of Zelda’s journey through life. Perhaps the most peculiar thing about this collection is the fact that Jeni’s only produced 60 of each flavor for this limited edition run, 10 of which were contained to their Short North shop. Even at $75.00 for the four, The Zelda Collection sold out nearly instantly. Although I was not one of the lucky few who will get to experience this ultra-rare ice cream, I can still dream about pieces of from-scratch, melt-in-your-mouth biscuits with our own peach jam in grass-grazed cream. Inspired by Zelda—her favorite treat was biscuits and peach jam—and Nashville's Loveless Cafe, whose biscuits are the best in the land.
