READER REVIEW: Nick's Review of Ben & Jerry's Maple Tree Hugger (Australian Exclusive)
I’m always looking for opportunities to add some international flavors that aren’t readily available in the United States to the blog, so I took advantage of the opportunity to add a brief review of this Ben & Jerry's Australian exclusive. One of my readers studying abroad at Griffith University had the recent pleasure of sampling Maple Tree Hugger, a flavor most of us will never get our grubby hands on.
After recently trying Steve’s Sunday Morning, which also utilized maple syrup in the ingredients list, the description of maple ice cream with a maple caramel swirl and brown sugar brownie chunks sounds like something I’d enjoy. I’m not sure what research Ben & Jerry’s ran across to make them think Australians would enjoy this concept more than Americans, but it can’t be true because I'd jump at the opportunity to purchase a pint.
Nick writes, “This flavor was really good. The maple syrup swirls were spot on, so if you’re a big breakfast fan I definitely suggest this flavor. There weren’t too many brown sugar brownie chunks, which was a bit disappointing, but the maple syrup flavor was there throughout ever bite. Overall, a really good flavor.”
