As soon as Haagen Dazs hopped into the gelato game, we were quick to review their Sea Salt Caramel Gelato as well as their Tiramisu Gelato, but took a break from exploring any further soon after. That is until their Caramelized Banana Chip showed up on shelves. Once we’d read the description on the side of the carton, we had to try this one, "delectably sweet, Häagen-Dazs Caramelized Banana Chip gelato blends rich caramelized banana gelato with semi-sweet chocolaty chips, creating an exceptionally smooth indulgence that’s light on your palate.”
Even though this is only a single flavored gelato and a few chocolate chips, Haagen Dazs provided enough smooth texture and balanced flavoring to make this one memorable. While banana isn’t typically a base we usually see in gelato, after trying this sweet version, others should follow suit. A smooth and creamy front end followed by a rich, chocolate finish makes sure each bite is just as exciting as the last.
