READER REVIEW: Bob's Review of 2nd St. Creamery Truck Stop Fudge
After getting my hands on Can’t Tell Me No! Cookie Dough, Copper Kettle Caramel and Tons of Brownies from 2nd St. Creamery, Truck Stop Fudge was next in line. Their cookie dough and caramel ice creams were both the best of any brand I’ve had. 2nd Street and their amount of mix-ins just set themselves apart from the rest. Truck Stop Fudge is a chocolate base that includes fudge and marshmallow mix-ins. This may be a bit misleading since they aren’t technically swirls but just pieces among the pint that you’ll find littered with white dots or darker spots of chocolate.
Upon cracking open this pint, only the chocolate base was visible and only a small dark splotch of the fudge sauce showed itself, so I was hoping this would include the same amount of mix-ins as Copper Kettle Caramel or Can’t Tell Me No! Cookie Dough. The two swirls started slowly but increased in size as I worked towards the bottom. It’s so dark and rich that this is truly a chocolate lover’s dream come true. This is thicker, denser and richer than most super-premium chocolate ice creams. The fudge takes the richness to another level and compliments the base very well. The marshmallow isn’t nearly as strong as the fudge or chocolate, but is still included in a high amount.
