Finally my small, local Target decided to get the exclusive Ben & Jerry’s flavors, so I had to hurry over and pick them up. Not only had they stocked up, but they also had a two pints for $5 promotion going on. This made the decision to purchase Peanut Butter World and Brownie Chew Gooder an easy one. Although both have received amazing reviews, I had to try Peanut Butter World first since I’m a peanut butter diehard.
Peanut Butter World is a milk chocolate ice cream with peanut buttery swirls & chocolate cookie swirls. The name of this flavor would have you believe that this would revolve around peanut butter, but that’s not the case. After opening the pint, I notice the dark, rich looking milk chocolate base. Ben & Jerry’s chocolate base isn’t exactly my favorite, but the combination of swirls with this milk chocolate variation makes for a great tasting pint. The milk chocolate base doesn’t seem as weak as their generic chocolate base and comes off a bit richer, so I have to say this is a slight improvement.
The peanut butter and chocolate cookie swirls are up next. As you start to really get into the pint, you find big chunks of peanut butter filling reminiscent of the inside of a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. The great thing is the swirls really compliment the base. As you get deeper, you continue to run into more and more of the swirls, which are some of the best available from Ben & Jerry’s. The chocolate cookie swirl is the same one found in Milk & Cookies and is equally effective in this one. I would have rather seen a peanut butter base considering the name of the pint, but it was still able to nearly top my list of peanut butter ice creams.
