REVIEW: Farggi Paletti Tropical Swirl Frozen Pops

A few weeks ago we received an email that read, "I’ve encountered your blog a few times while researching products, and I think your reviews are great, very helpful and in depth. I’m contacting you because we recently did a limited test launch of our Farggi Paletti products in Miami and NYC, and we would love to send you some samples and get a review on your blog. To explain very briefly, Farggi Paletti are unique frozen pops that blend fresh and creamy textures, and are made right in Barcelona. We currently offer 4 flavours : Chocolate Cream Swirl: Chocolate sorbet with creamy Vanilla and Sweet Cream Tropical Swirl: Pear sorbet, Strawberry sorbet and creamy Vanilla Orange Berry Swirl: Orange sorbet, Strawberry sorbet and creamy Vanilla Neapolitan Swirl: Creamy blend of Vanilla, Chocolate and strawberry flavours. A pack of 6 pops (75ml each) goes for about $4.00 or $4.49, depending on the store." We love trying out new products, so we quickly accepted the offer and awaited our shipment.

Once our shipment of frozen pops arrived we went for the Tropical Swirl version first which we were hoping would help with the hot weather outside all while keeping our waistline in check. At only 70 calories each, these can easily be fit into any diet. While we originally thought these were going to struggle to compete in an already saturated market of ice cream novelty items, one lick had us thinking otherwise. The white vanilla swirl melted down far quicker than the strawberry and pear sorbet stripes, which produced a unique blend of sweet cream and fruit flavors that exceeded our expectations.

It wouldn't be fair to compare these to some super-premium ice creams sporting over 300 calories per serving, so we won't. For a hot summer day though, these provide a pleasant way to cool off all while satisfying your craving for sweets. We'll be covering a few other flavors from Farggi's frozen pop lineup in the near future, so stay tuned.
