Following our positive experience with Turkey Hill's All Natural Salted Caramel, we couldn't help ourselves from also exploring their Mint Chocolate Chip. While this lineup revolves around the fact that there aren't any additives, extremely simple concepts like these can sometimes leave us wanting more in the form of mix-ins. Without the use of artificial ingredients, that also means that this All-Natural version retains the off-white color from the cream and milk instead of the usual bright green base we're accustomed to. This also happened to be one of the few instances where the illustration on the outside of the carton looked exactly what we found on the inside.
After creating their all-natural ice cream mix, Turkey Hill adds oil of peppermint to obtain the taste they were looking for. This translates into a smooth, clean tasting mint ice cream that becomes even better once the crunchy bits of chocolate come into play. Each bite brought about the ideal example of what mint chocolate chip ice cream should taste like and while we respect what they're trying to accomplish by keeping their ingredient list super short, that doesn't mean it could compete with some of the other more intricate mint combinations we've reviewed.
